At Burton Elementary, we have a wonderful program called Active Play with Makelle! This program is all about having fun, making friends, and helping every student feel included during recess.
How Does It Work?
It’s easy to join! Anyone can participate during recess time. Students can come together to play games, learn new activities, and enjoy spending time with their classmates. Whether you love playing games or want to try something new, there is a place for everyone!
Playing Together and Including Everyone
Active Play with Makelle is about more than just playing games. It helps students learn how to work together, include others, and make sure everyone feels welcome. Students practice being kind, taking turns, following rules, and encouraging one another.
Through active play, we are building friendships, learning important social skills, and discovering that recess is even more fun when everyone gets to be part of the action!
