6th Grade Teachers
Mrs. Jones has worked for the district for about 8 years. “My favorite part of the job is the kids, my team, I love the challenge of all of it! Fun Fact: I grew up playing the harp.”
Mrs. Lundgreen: “I love to teach because it keeps my mind sharp and my soul fulfilled. It energizes me and is unpredictable. I love the "aha!" moments and the tender moments of connection. Teaching is never boring and is exhausting and wonderful at the same time! Fun Fact: I can sing the alphabet backwards!”
Mrs. Cox has worked in Davis School District for 13 years, along with 4 years in other districts. She has taught 2nd, 4th and 6th grades. “My favorite part of the job is watching my students grow academically, socially and emotionally! Fun Fact: My love language is Chocolate!”
Mrs. Spens: “Teaching means so much to me because of my students. They truly enrich my life every single day. The relationships we build are so meaningful, and I’ve learned just as much from them as they have from me. They inspire me to grow, to be better, and to appreciate the little moments. I genuinely treasure being in the classroom with them each day.”
Mrs. Bean: “I enjoy a good story. To this end, language arts is my favorite subject to teach where I share my love for learning with my students using classic and contemporary literature, prize-winning authors, clever anecdotes, life experiences, witty prose and poetry, and insightful articles integrated across all academia. It brings great joy to my soul to see my students excel in their reading and writing to communicate more effectively.
I read and write at the expense of sleeping. I especially am intrigued by grammatical linguistics and syntax and occasionally will diagram some of the lengthier sentences of Melville, Faulkner, and Dante's Inferno just for fun. While I have had several books published successfully under a pseudonym at the insistence of a friend who writes for Harlequin/MIRA, I doubt I’ll pursue it to the extent that it becomes work rather than pleasure. Write on!”
