We are excited to welcome our teachers and students back to classrooms! We anticipate warm temperatures this week and a few weeks into the school year. Our utilities and maintenance teams have been working tirelessly to assure that our school’s cooling system is ready for the warm days ahead. Even with that attention, sometimes classrooms can get pretty warm - especially later in the day. If possible, please send your student to school with a water bottle so they can stay hydrated.
The cooling system in our school isn’t like a home system where we can simply turn on a switch and feel nearly immediate change in temperatures. School HVAC systems are large and complex. This video (https://youtu.be/jYLjtB04IrU) shows a tour of some of the HVAC and temperature control systems in Davis School District schools. It might be fun to watch with your students to help them understand the cooling and heating systems in our school.
Providing a safe and comfortable space for your students to learn is a top priority. We appreciate your patience as we work through the first (and warmest) part of the school year. If you have temperature-related concerns please contact our school administrative team.
