Principal Hilaree Lowry

Hello Burton Bulldogs!

Welcome to another amazing year at Burton Elementary.  As difficult as the 2020-2021 school year was for many of us, I’m proud of the students and teachers and their resilience through a hard time.  We made the most of every moment together, and 2021-2022 is set to be another great year of learning and growing.  This year we are focusing on be champions – champions for others, and champions ourselves – making and meeting our goals for learning and improvement.

I love the quote by Rita Pierson, “Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” The champions at Burton Elementary will continue to foster greatness in our students and help them to be their best always. As your child’s champion, please contact me at any time. My email address is

 About Principal Lowry:

I have worked in the field of education for over 20 years, most of those years with Davis School District. I taught sixth grade for ten years and worked for 3 years as an administrative intern in Davis County schools.  I love interacting with children and seeing them learn and grow—there is nothing more rewarding and energizing.

I am wife to a wonderful husband and mom to one son. As a family we enjoy camping, road trips, and spending time together. My husband and I enjoy experiencing the beauty of the western United States on our Harley Davidson. I am an avid baseball fan and enjoy cheering on my Boston Red Sox every year. I got to take the trip of lifetime in 2016 to see the Red Sox take on the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. I even got to go inside the famous Green Monster and brought home some dirt from the outfield.
